This set of two vintage Asian lacquer panels features finely hand-painted and inlaid courtly scenes, richly decorated in black, red, and gold tones. Each panel depicts domestic and ceremonial life, with detailed figures, landscapes, and animals framed by ornate floral borders. The bottom sections of each panel showcase mythical-style animals, adding symbolic and decorative value.
Crafted in the traditional lacquer technique on wood, these panels exhibit a glossy finish and vibrant detailing. Likely dating from the mid-20th century (c. 1950s–1970s), they reflect a blend of Chinese decorative traditions with export artistry, making them both a cultural statement and a striking display piece.
These panels were intended as wall décor and come ready to hang. Measuring approximately 48 inches tall, they are ideal as a pair for flanking entryways, hallways, or living room displays.
