CLOSED FOR FLOOD WATCH! Closed Friday 12/12/25 & Saturday 12/13/25
This elegant studio pottery cup features a graceful hourglass shape and is finished in a striking multi-tonal glaze that cascades from creamy white to warm ochre and deep brown. Likely fired in a gas or wood kiln, this piece exhibits natural ash deposits and flame patterning reminiscent of shino or tenmoku glaze techniques. The interior shows circular glazing that mirrors the outer palette, while the base reveals an unglazed foot with natural reddish firing marks typical of reduction-fired stoneware.
Standing approximately 4 inches tall with a 3-inch diameter, this piece is ideal for tea, whiskey, or use as a decorative tumbler or yunomi-style cup. The craftsmanship and firing style suggest North American studio pottery from the late 20th to early 21st century, roughly circa 1990s–2010s.
In excellent condition, this cup shows no chips, cracks, or damage. The glaze is intentionally varied with speckling and drip marks that are part of the aesthetic and texture of handcrafted ceramics.
