This handsome mid-19th-century copper-luster pitcher shows the classic bulbous body, flared neck, and foliate scrollwork you expect from Staffordshire production. The mirrorlike golden luster catches the light beautifully, making it a striking accent for a shelf or mantel.
Materials: Earthenware pottery with copper luster glaze; hand-painted floral/scroll decoration.
Style/Theme: Victorian / Regency-era Staffordshire copper luster; floral & scroll motif.
Age: Circa 1830–1860.
Size: 6.5 in wide (spout to handle) × 5.5 in tall.
Brand/Maker: Unmarked (typical of many Staffordshire potteries of the period).
Country of origin: England (stylistically and by tradition for this ware).
Condition: Good antique condition with honest age wear, expected surface rubbing and scratches to the luster, scattered pinholes/ kiln specks, small glaze nicks and touch-ups at high points (rim, spout, handle), faint age lines/crazing, and interior wear. Presents well.
Food safe? Not recommended for food or drink. Early luster glazes commonly contain lead; best used for display.
