Made in Fukuoka, Japan, this figurine is part of the renowned Hakata Urasaki doll line, celebrated for their lifelike detail and cultural authenticity. The figure is dressed in traditional attire with a black cap, ochre-toned robe, and gray trousers, seated cross-legged while holding a finely decorated vase featuring a blue dragon motif.
Handcrafted from clay and meticulously hand-painted, this piece dates to the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1960s). The original paper tags remain attached, reading “Hakata Urasaki Dolls – Fukuoka Japan” and “U-26 Honey Bucket”, confirming its authenticity. These dolls were prized export items and are now highly collectible examples of post-war Japanese folk art.
