This striking vintage jug was hand-painted by Gray’s Pottery of Stoke-on-Trent, England, known for its distinctive lustreware pieces produced between the 1920s and 1940s. Measuring 4 inches tall and 5 inches wide including the handle, the jug is finished in a brilliant gold lustre glaze that gives it a warm, reflective sheen. The underside carries the Gray’s Pottery mark featuring a sailing ship, confirming its authenticity.
Crafted from fine ceramic, this piece reflects the Art Deco to early mid-century taste for metallic and reflective finishes. Its bulbous form, sturdy handle, and gleaming glaze make it both decorative and functional. While originally intended as a cream or milk jug, today it serves equally well as a display accent, collectible, or small vase.
