Charming mid-19th-century English copper-lustre earthenware pitcher/jug. The body shows a deep cobalt band with applied and hand-enameled pastoral sprigs (shepherdess with lamb) framed by beaded borders; the neck and foot flash with rich copper lustre. A classic small “toy”/miniature size perfect for display with other lustreware.
Materials: Glazed earthenware pottery; copper-lustre overglaze; cobalt blue band; hand-painted enamel sprig decoration.
