Alan Rosen writing desk & chair

Handcrafted studio writing desk and matching chair by renowned Lummi Island artisan Alan Rosen. Created in 1992, this desk is a striking example of Rosen’s mastery of hardwoods and his dedication to functional sculpture. The set features his signature organic contours, graceful proportions, and highly figured wood grain that brings warmth and character to any room.

• Desk: The desk includes a sculpted hutch with two drawers and open cubbies with glass shelves, along with a large center drawer. It features striking curly maple or quilted maple wood grain across the entire surface, hand-finished to a rich, natural satin sheen. Elegant curves on the legs add to its artistic presence.

• Chair: The matching chair displays Rosen’s signature bentwood armrest in richly grained hardwood and is upholstered with a soft burgundy-red leather seat. Its structure reflects a fusion of modern minimalism and traditional joinery.

Signed under the desk: "A. Rosen & P.S." with date “5/92” and inscribed “Lummi Isl.”
